For our European headquarters in Hamburg we are looking for a
Junior Sensory Scientist (m/f)
to start date as soon as possible
Your role:
- Support the sensory team in different projects as well as in the implementation of a sensory strategy
and in the coordination of an in-house employee panel
- Plan and structure small sensory projects, prepare presentations for internal/external customers
and participate in cross-functional project team meetings
- Coordinate internal panel sessions and encourage/ensure participation of staff
- Prepare sensory training sessions
- Statistically analyze, interpret and report project results and formulate recommendations based on
your findings
- Contribute to productivity and improvement initiatives in manufacturing
- Drive the process of knowledge sharing/production as to starches, their applications and texture
by selecting and applying suitable sensory tools, examine the feasibility of new approaches in sensory
testing and support the implementation of new tools and methods
- Document all technical work centrally and communicate project results
Your profile:
- Degree in food science or a similar discipline
- Experience in sensory analysis in the food industry
- Good knowledge of sensory methodologies/evaluation and of statistics
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with statistical software such as Statistica and sensory software
such as Compusense advantageous
- Effective communication abilities in both German and English in the context of cross-functional
global teamwork
- Goal-oriented, independent way of working
- Solid project and time management skills along with the ability to juggle multiple projects
